My love for cooking started in Lebanon, watching my mother — a master of Lebanese cuisine — turn simple ingredients into something unforgettable. Inspired by her, I went to culinary school and explored dishes from around the world. That’s where I discovered my true passion: French cuisine. The depth, technique, and history of French cooking lit a fire in me that I couldn’t ignore.
When I moved to Canada, I came with one dream — to open a French restaurant. But life had a surprise waiting for me. I discovered Caribbean food, and it instantly clicked. The flavours were bold and soulful, the history rich and familiar. French and Caribbean cuisines share deep roots, and I felt connected to both in a way that felt like home.
I had the incredible fortune of learning directly from the previous owner of Caribbean Bliss. For two years, he mentored me and taught me the heart of Caribbean cooking. From there, I began to fuse what I had learned with the techniques I loved — and Sweet & Sassy was born: a celebration of French-Caribbean fusion.
The name is more than a brand — it’s a tribute. It reflects the personalities of my two beautiful daughters, who are sweet, sometimes sassy, and always the light of my life. This restaurant carries a piece of them in every bite.
At Sweet & Sassy, we don’t just serve food — we serve joy, warmth, and soul. My kitchen is where tradition meets creativity, and every plate tells a story. I cook with heart, and I hope you can taste it.
